Adriana Lima was born in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil in June 12, 1941. She was the only child of Nelson Torres and Maria da Graca Lima.

She engaged herself in a modeling career at the age of 15, she entered to the Brazil's Ford Supermodel of the World Search and she ranked to be the first placer. Subsequently she entered again for the year 1996 at the same kind on competition and she got second placer. With her hot and sexy body, Lima was appeared in numerous international edition of Vogue and Marie Claire. She was also appeared in a fashion shows wearing the design of the big-name designer Vera Wang, Ralph Lauren and other well known designers.
